New challenge at The Stamping Chef


Welcome back to Cards by Kay it is time for a new " Anything Goes " challenge over at the Stamping Chef . This time I am showing the very lovely " Ella Lovely " you can find her Here I have used Stamping Up designer series papers and Crisp cantaloupe cardstock the die is beaded oval from Spellbinders.

Re-Release over at Simply Steampunk challenges

Hello and welcome back to Cards by Kay ! Today over at Simply Steampunk Challenges we are having a re-release of a fantastic line from the Simply Betty stamp  Store these totally gorgeous images are from the Teen Scene Steampunk Valentine line. One for the Boys

Hello and welcome back to Cards by Kay, it is time for another challenge over at Left of Centre challenges and this week it is " One for the Boy's " our challenge for you is to create a male themed card, the boys are referred to as the harder card to make we tend to pretty up our cards with beautiful colors,ribbons,flowers and the boys are often left out of the mix !  My image is #539 Owl I have colored it on heavy cartridge paper with Derwent Colorsoft pencils.
I have also followed along with a sketch from the Outlawz challenge blog.

Happy Mother's Day


Hi all and welcome back to Cards by Kay it is challenge time again over at The Stamping Chef as always it is an " Anything Goes " challenge. The image I have chosen this time is Tabitha available here. I have used Graphic 45 Botanical Tea " Just Because " paper and Bazzill cardstock. I have hand embroidered the side panel by paper pricking a pattern and using a satin pink and green thread. The  ribbon buckle is a chipboard shape I have colored up with the copic airbrush system and R89 sketch marker, I have glittered up the edges with opal glitter. And the ribbon is Very Vanilla velvet ribbon from Stampin Up. I have also used self adhesive pearls for Tabitha's rings and Dimensional Faux enamel for the dress and belt and sleeve.

Frankenstien's Bride

This month over at Simply Steampunk Challenges we are doing something a little different, instead of our usual 4 showings we are using these 2 fabulous images by Abigail Larsen available over at Simply Betty Stamps now ! We have two different versions of Frankenstien's Bride. I fell in love with this first image ages ago when I first saw it, and now I can't decide between the two which is my favorite ! So back to business our challenge for you this month at Simply Steampunk Challenges is " Piecing together " paper patchwork, stitches etc, but there is a catch you will need to head over to the Simply Steampunk Challenge site to choose one of these two images to enter the challenge, then get your Steampunking on and join us for a fantastic challenge and a whole lot of fun !
 Be sure to check out all the inspiration the DT girls have provided they have done an outstanding job as always :) 
 So to color this first image " Bride of Frankenstien " I have used the following copic colors:
Skin: E51,21,11
Hair: N3,5,7
Dress: G40,43,46, N3,5,7,R81,83
Background: W0,1,3,5,7
Frame: C0,1,3
I have embroidered a border for my card from a pattern from " Embroidery on Paper" by Annie & Nico Heesakkers.
My thread is a multi colored green silk thread
Cardstock is Core'dinations Black and American Crafts Green and a basic cream base card.

This one is the brand new image by Abigail available now in the Simply B store ! 
I have colored my image with the following copic markers :
Skin: E51,21,11
Hair: N3,4,5,7
Dress:12,14,16
I have fussy cut my image and taken out the background area. 
I have used paper from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells range and a black linen paper.
I have then cut 4 equal squares to cove my card front then pierced a border around each piece. 
I have added just a few simple pieces to embellish my card, my little owl is from a necklace, flower is Petaloo and a little lace, pearls and cogs to finish !

Spring Fling at Left of centre

Welcome back to Cards by Kay it is midway reminder time at Left of Centre Challenges our theme for you this time is Spring Fling. Our sponsor for this challenge is the awesome Delicious Doodles follow this link to this fantastic image called Lilith . I have taken a different path this time instead of using my usual Copic markers I have used Derwent Colorsoft pencils. I am pretty happy with the finished product for my first go using pencils instead of Copic markers I have also enjoyed the challenge of using a different media. If anyone would like the color combinations I have used for this image please email me through the email link on my side bar I am more than happy to share :) So I do hope you like her ! I have used a basic cream base card My papers are from Graphic 45 Botanical Tea range this piece is called Botanical tea ! my flower in the corner was done with the Copic Airbrush system and BG72. Another new toy I am very excited to be using.
 The die cut behind my image is from my Silhouette Library called echo Park Doily.

Something Wicked This way Comes !!

Welcome back to Cards by Kay, this month over at Punk you Girl our challenge for you is

 This month with so much going on personally I was a little in choosing my image from our fabulous sponsor Delicious Doodles my apologies to Terri ! So I have gone with one of my own images this month and I have chosen a fabulous image drawn by the very talented Abigail Larsen  and all who know me know I adore her work !
