Frankenstien's Bride

This month over at Simply Steampunk Challenges we are doing something a little different, instead of our usual 4 showings we are using these 2 fabulous images by Abigail Larsen available over at Simply Betty Stamps now ! We have two different versions of Frankenstien's Bride. I fell in love with this first image ages ago when I first saw it, and now I can't decide between the two which is my favorite ! So back to business our challenge for you this month at Simply Steampunk Challenges is " Piecing together " paper patchwork, stitches etc, but there is a catch you will need to head over to the Simply Steampunk Challenge site to choose one of these two images to enter the challenge, then get your Steampunking on and join us for a fantastic challenge and a whole lot of fun !
 Be sure to check out all the inspiration the DT girls have provided they have done an outstanding job as always :) 
 So to color this first image " Bride of Frankenstien " I have used the following copic colors:
Skin: E51,21,11
Hair: N3,5,7
Dress: G40,43,46, N3,5,7,R81,83
Background: W0,1,3,5,7
Frame: C0,1,3
I have embroidered a border for my card from a pattern from " Embroidery on Paper" by Annie & Nico Heesakkers.
My thread is a multi colored green silk thread
Cardstock is Core'dinations Black and American Crafts Green and a basic cream base card.

This one is the brand new image by Abigail available now in the Simply B store ! 
I have colored my image with the following copic markers :
Skin: E51,21,11
Hair: N3,4,5,7
Dress:12,14,16
I have fussy cut my image and taken out the background area. 
I have used paper from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells range and a black linen paper.
I have then cut 4 equal squares to cove my card front then pierced a border around each piece. 
I have added just a few simple pieces to embellish my card, my little owl is from a necklace, flower is Petaloo and a little lace, pearls and cogs to finish !

Spring Fling at Left of centre

Welcome back to Cards by Kay it is midway reminder time at Left of Centre Challenges our theme for you this time is Spring Fling. Our sponsor for this challenge is the awesome Delicious Doodles follow this link to this fantastic image called Lilith . I have taken a different path this time instead of using my usual Copic markers I have used Derwent Colorsoft pencils. I am pretty happy with the finished product for my first go using pencils instead of Copic markers I have also enjoyed the challenge of using a different media. If anyone would like the color combinations I have used for this image please email me through the email link on my side bar I am more than happy to share :) So I do hope you like her ! I have used a basic cream base card My papers are from Graphic 45 Botanical Tea range this piece is called Botanical tea ! my flower in the corner was done with the Copic Airbrush system and BG72. Another new toy I am very excited to be using.
 The die cut behind my image is from my Silhouette Library called echo Park Doily.

Something Wicked This way Comes !!

Welcome back to Cards by Kay, this month over at Punk you Girl our challenge for you is
" Things With Wings" . The DT team have come up with some fantastic inspiration for you head on over to the Punk You Girl blog to check out their projects and for more info on the challenge !
 This month with so much going on personally I was a little in choosing my image from our fabulous sponsor Delicious Doodles my apologies to Terri ! So I have gone with one of my own images this month and I have chosen a fabulous image drawn by the very talented Abigail Larsen  and all who know me know I adore her work ! I have had an awesome time playing with this image. So here she is available at the Simply Betty Store, Druscilla The Demon .

Nile Goddess !

Hello and welcome back to Cards by Kay wow! what a busy couple of weeks it has been stuff happening all over the place ! It is time for a new challenge over at the Stamping Chef and this week I have chosen to show you a gorgeous little image called Nile Goddess I done something a little different this time round I have made a cover for a little note book  my egyptian papers are from an etsy store called Flavoree where you can find some gorgeous digital papers this file is called Egyptian Patterns . I have also used another digital file from an Etsy store called Zadis Digital Scrapbook and the file is called Egyptian Bits and Papers. I have started by choosing Egyptian patterns 8 & 9 from Flavoree and halved them on the front of my notebook the other papers and embellies are from Egyptian Bits and Papers the paper is coded ZEBP2 and the ornaments are ZEBP- Ankh and ZEBP- Eye of Horus and ZEBP- wings

Liebsters Award

Welcome back to Cards by Kay and round 2 of the Liebster Blog award this time round I am answering questions from my nomination from Maureen




                                  

Maureens questions:

1/ What is your favorite shape /size card to make ?
I don't have a favorite as such I kind of do what I feel at the time and what I think will suit my image. 
2/ What tool can you not live without ?
I would have to say my stampin up paper trimmer as I cannot cut a straight line free hand to save myself !
3/ Do you have your own craft room/space?
I do have my own craft room all to myself I do not have to share it with anyone !
4/ Do you only make cards or do you do other types of crafting?
Cards are my main venture but I do occasionally have a dabble in off the page stuff !
5/ What has been your biggest crafting achievement?
I would have to say being chosen on my very first Design Team over at Simply Steampunk Challenges !
6/What is your favorite craft store / website?
My favorite craft store is probably my own ! But if it is something I cannot get anywhere else then I always go to Craft on Line !
7/ What is your favorite paper that you cannot cut?
I used to save all sorts of different papers and not cut them but not anymore if I've got it I like to use it !
8/Do you craft with TV or music on ? What would you be listening to ?
I do like a little back ground noise if I am watching TV at the moment it is SuperNatural, but I also like to watch The Lord of the Rings,Harry Potter, The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones,as for music I listen to a varied mix of ACDC,Pete Murray,Michael Buble, The Angels,Avcii,Diesel,Eskimo Joe, Foo Fighters the list goes on and on !!
9/Do you work outside the home?
I do work outside the home I work full time as an Optical Dispenser .
10What do you do if you loose your Mojo?
My Mojo often goes for a wander away without me, when it does I walk away from what I am doing and go for a walk 
11/ What is your favorite digi stamp company?
There are so many I do not have just one favorite, Simply Betty Stamps is at the top of my list though !

Liebster Award

 I have been lucky enough to be nominated for the Liebster Award by two wonderful ladies the very lovely Laila Anesland and the equally lovely Maureen Scott thank you ladies so much it is a happy day when I can make someone smile just by doing what I love ! Now I have been dragging my feet a little in getting this done, I have had a busy time of it lately and am just getting time to get this don so I have 2 sets of questions to answer for these ladies so here goes. I will start with Laila's questions
1/ When did you fall in love with crafts ?
 I first fell in love with stamping about 25 years ago when I went to an information night at a Lincraft store with my Mum. 
2/What is your favorite style ? 
 My favorite style is Steampunk 
3/ What do you drink / snack on when crafting ?
 I am afraid I am boring in this I am just a water girl ! 
4/What brings back your mojo if it's gone ?
  I will leave what I am working on I like to walk away from my craft room and go for a walk or do a workout ! 
5/ What is your biggest sin in a craft store ? ( what can't you walk past ) 
  Lol mine would have to be ribbons if I find a nice one I can't leave it there !
6/What is your favorite craft supplies or brand ?
I tend to always reach for my Petaloo flowers or Tim Holtz embellishments 
7/What is your go to store ? 
 I can usually always find what I'm looking for from Craft Supplies on Line  
8/Do you have any inspiration places that you visit or if you live there ?
I am a very lucky girl and I live in the country in Victoria Australia and I am surrounded by beautiful countryside and animals and lots of flora.
9/What music/movies do you listen to/watch while crafting ?
I like to listen to a very varied music playlist including, Nickleback,ACDC, James Blunt, Coldplay, The Script,Michael Buble. I did say varied ! I also like to watch The Walking Dead, Super Natural, The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
10/ Your colors of choice?
Hmm this is a tough one as I do a lot of darker themed work I go to Blacks greys, browns I love my earthy tones but I also love my blues and greens throw in a little bit of purple and orange !
11/All time favorite designer paper/pad ?
Has to be Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells

Amarantha and Archie


Welcome back to Cards by Kay today is my last showing for our current challenge over at Simply Steampunk Challenges this month it is " Anything Goes " but it must be steampunk. So for my final piece I am showing you a fantastic image by Abigail Larsen available here at Simply Betty Stamps.
This time I have used an artists canvas.
